Travis has been an online teacher, special educational assistant, learning consultant, and tutor for the last 8 years. He has taught Math for grades 2-12, and Social Studies for grades 10-11. He specializes in adapting curriculum to meet the needs of students with IEP’s, and he takes pride in doing work that has a positive impact on the lives of students and their families. His educational philosophy is a simple one: teachers exist to serve others, and the best way we can do that is by helping students to help themselves. The best thing we can do for our students is to teach them the skills they need to accomplish their goals, and then give them the opportunity to apply these skills independently. As long as a student comes to class with an open mind and a desire to work through the challenges then they are bound to succeed!
Travis lives in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, and he loves that he got to grow up in British Columbia. He enjoys outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, snowboarding, swimming, biking, and camping. He also loves electronics of any kind! Some of his favorite hobbies include playing video games and PC games, as well as building/upgrading computers (these are all great icebreakers to use with students).
Travis is ready to embark on a fun, engaging, and informative learning journey with you. So, let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work!
